Camping at the Foot of Saana Fell – Kilpisjärvi
The campsite at Kilpisjärven Retkeilykeskus is located right at the foot of Saana Fell, at the starting point of the trail leading to the summit. The campsite is ideal for motorhome and caravan travellers as well as tent campers who wish to stay close to nature and enjoy the Lapland fell landscapes.
During the summer season, the boat to the Three-Country Cairn departs directly from our shoreline, making it easy to reach this unique landmark from our campsite.

Spring: 6 March – 1 May 2026 (excluding Easter week)
Summer: 8 June – 26 September 2026
Check-in is available from 12:00 noon on the day of arrival, in accordance with our opening hours.

Rules & reservations
Camping pitches cannot be reserved in advance and are sold at reception on a first-come, first-served basis. In practice, there is usually space available for everyone, and you are welcome to check current availability with reception before arrival.
Check-in to the campsite is possible from 12:00 noon on the day of arrival.
Pitches must be vacated by 12:00 noon on the day of departure.
Quiet hours are from 23:00 to 07:00.
Dogs are welcome at the campsite.
Please note that in the summer time reindeer roam freely in the area.

Tent camping
Our tent pitches are located in the natural forest areas of the campsite and do not have electricity.
Tent campers have access to the campsite’s WC and shower facilities as well as other shared services according to the campsite fee. General sauna sessions are also included in the tent pitch price.
Saunas
General sauna sessions are included in the campsite fee, with separate times for men and women.
A private electric sauna for 1–5 persons can also be reserved. Private sauna sessions can be booked through reception even if you are not staying at the campsite.
Electric hook-ups
All caravan pitches are equipped with electricity. The electrical connections at the campsite are 16 amp. In some cases, an adapter may be required for your motorhome or caravan. If needed, adapters can be borrowed from reception.
Tent pitches do not have electricity.
